Therapy as unique as you are.

Whitley Jackson, LMFT

A marriage and family therapist who specializes in working with individuals (teens/adults), couples, and families.

As a Black woman, a native New Yorker, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my work is rooted in building trust, respect, and deep positive regard for my clients and community. I believe that healing is both personal and collective, our well-being is shaped not just by individual experiences but by the generations and communities that hold us.

My excitement for this work began in my very first psychology class in college, where my Black professor connected art, music, and the brain in a way I never experienced before. Hearing Mozart, Tupac, and Toni Morrison woven into the syllabus, I knew I was in the right place. From that spark, I began working with youth in various supportive roles. My final role before starting graduate school was as a College Coordinator at a transfer high school. In this role, I slowly worked with students (and their support systems,) to peel back layers of experiences that had shaped their thoughts and opinions of themselves that held them back from the application process. This role shifted how I work with clients today, it deepened my understanding that big change can happen through community, collaboration, support and with one person breaking a cycle.

Today, I take pride in the fact that I work with individuals, couples, and families, with a passion for serving Black people. Beyond the therapy room, I extend my work into the community through workshops, guest lecturing, and events all guided by my philosophy that “it’s all therapeutic.” Whether in a therapy session, a classroom, or a shared conversation, my goal is to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

If you’re seeking a space to process and grow, or looking to collaborate on workshops and events, I’d love to connect.

Therapy

It all starts with the willingness and openness to start the therapeutic journey. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, recognizing that my clients are the experts in their own lives. My role is to provide support, reflection, and guidance as we navigate challenges together. Grounded in the understanding that therapy is systemic, I hold space for conversations that explore family dynamics, cultural influences, and the broader social structures that impact our experiences. My sessions are warm, reflective, and solution-focused, integrating yoga and somatic practices to support the mind and body.
